Rust Tutorial #1 - Introduction To Rust Programming
Welcome to a brand new series on my channel! I'm super excited about this series because I am going to be covering the Rust programming language! Rust is a great programming language and I've really been enjoying it over the past few days and I think you will too. Ideally there is going to be 15 to 20 videos in the series and I'm going to cover everything from the complete basics to some more advanced rust concepts and show you some of the power that Rust has. Enjoy this video and the series! 💻
AI agents can now write idiomatic Rust (Symposium)
👉Join the Rust Live Accelerator waitlist: https://letsgetrusty.com/join/wv-n83pvFuZ5fo Symposium connects AI coding agents to Rust crate guidance through skills, hooks, and MCP servers. In this video, we look at how it uses your workspace dependencies to give agents more relevant context, then compare two Codex implementations of a Toasty task tracker—with and without Symposium. Rust Tutorial #2 - Using Rust Tools (cargo, rustfmt)
Welcome to video two in this Rust Programming series! In this video I am going to be showing you some Rust Command Line tools, specifically cargo and also rustfmt. Cargo is actually the recommended tool for building, running, and creating our rust projects. Both of these tools are very helpful, especially as your projects get larger. I hope that you enjoy and learn something new! 💻 ProgrammingExpert is the best platform to learn how to code and become a software engineer as fast as possible! Ch

🚀 Introducing CedroDB: An Open-Source Embedded Database Built in Rust for Python, Node.js & AI Agents
🚀 Introducing CedroDB — An Open-Source Embedded Database Built in Rust I've been developing CedroDB, an experimental, local-first database engine written in Rust, with native bindings for Python, Node.js, and TypeScript. The goal is to simplify how applications manage persistent data, searchable knowledge, AI agent memory, and recoverable background workflows — all without requiring an external database server. 🔧 Key Features JSON Document Storage: Store and manage structured ...
Building CedroDB: Exploring Local-First Storage for AI Agents with Rust
Building CedroDB: Exploring Local-First Storage for AI Agents with Rust 🚀 Modern AI applications are becoming increasingly complex. An AI agent may need to remember previous interactions, retrieve relevant information, maintain its execution state, and recover interrupted workflows. These capabilities often require combining databases, search engines, job queues, and persistence mechanisms. But what if we could explore bringing several of these capabilities into a single embedded storage...
Building CedroDB: A Rust-Powered Embedded Database for Python, Node.js, and AI Agents
Modern applications, particularly AI-powered systems, often require more than simple data persistence. They need searchable knowledge, durable state, background processing, and reliable recovery after interruptions. These requirements frequently lead developers to integrate multiple storage technologies and services. CedroDB is an experimental open-source project exploring another approach: combining several of these capabilities into a single local-first storage engine written in Rust. T...
I'm not a Rust developer, but I shipped a Windows file manager to the Microsoft Store with AI
A few months ago I got tired of File Explorer. I wanted a column view, instant previews, tabs and a command palette – and I wanted all of it in a small, fast app that doesn't phone home. So I built Dirwise, a free, open-source (MIT) file manager for Windows 10/11. Last week it went live on the Microsoft Store. The twist: I'm a product person, not a Rust developer. Almost all of the code was written by an AI coding agent (Claude Code). I designed the features, wrote the specs, tested every b...
KiviDB is now open source: a multi-core, Redis-compatible database in Rust
KiviDB is an in-memory database that speaks the Redis protocol. Any Redis client, library or tool works against it unchanged. The difference is underneath: KiviDB is written in Rust and uses a sharded, multi-core engine, where Redis executes commands on a single thread. As of version 1.1.0, the entire engine is open source under the GNU AGPLv3. Repo: github.com/kividbio/kividb Why we open-sourced it KiviDB shipped as a closed binary for its first few months. The benchmarks and s...
